Tax codes define the amount of tax to be added to an order, whether that's a percentage or a fixed amount. The tax code makes up one third of the three-way match on tax assignments, which includes tax zone, tax type, and tax code. When all three of these match for a particular order, then tax will be calculated appropriately.

To access the master list of tax codes, go to Tax Codes. The following screen will appear:

The Tax Codes master list displays the code and description for all existing tax codes.
