1. Installing on Linux with xTuple Admin Utility

The xTuple Admin Utility (xTAU) is a toolkit for administering xTuple on an Ubuntu Linux server. It includes options for performing a quick installation of xTuple, and for maintaining the PostgreSQL server and xTuple databases. xTAU allows you to install and maintain both non-web-enabled and web-enabled servers. A non-web-enabled xTuple installation includes only a PostgreSQL database server and an xTuple database. A web-enabled server includes the items above, plus a node.js server and web components.

xTAU currently only runs on specific versions of Linux. You will need a machine or virtual machine that is running one of the following operating systems.

  • Ubuntu 14.04

  • Ubuntu 16.04

  • Debian 7.x 64bit only

We provide a quick guide to help select the proper options when installing Ubuntu: see Steps to Install Ubuntu
