Chapter 4. Project Accounting

Of all the xTuple Project features, project accounting is perhaps the most powerful because it provides full financial tracking and reporting by project—all with an extremely simple design. As we saw in the System Administration chapter, there is practically no set up required to configure project accounting. All you need to do is simply enable it on the CRM configuration screen and then assign two privileges. From that point forward, project accounting piggy backs on top of already-existing xTuple ERP account assignments and standard process flows. This enables you to generate detailed financial information by project, using xTuple ERP's full-featured financial reporting tools.

Project accounting is included as part of the Enterprise edition―or as a commercial extension package available for any edition of xTuple ERP.
