A commission schedule allows for the calculation of commission based on a percentage that can take into account the discount applied to the sales order and the invoice. The power and flexibility of the enhanced commissions package lies in the ability to apply multiple commission schedules in numerous ways to elements in the xTuple ERP system.
In our example we will configure a commission schedule that allows for 10% commission when no discount is applied―and, at the other end of the scale, no commission when the maximum discount is applied.
To access the Commission Schedule master list, select
under in the left pane of the Sales Setup screen. You will be presented with the following screen:Commission Schedule master list
If the Commission Schedules master list is not visible, you will need to go through the configuration of the module from the beginning to ensure that the user has sufficient privileges and that enhanced commissions is enabled.
The top menu bar in this screen is used to add, assign and delete commission schedules. The list of commission schedules that will appear in the list in this screen depends on the filter options that are applied when you click on

Enter a name for the commission schedule in the text box next to the description. In this example we will use the name "Normal Accounts." We will also enter a description to further identify the commission schedule. Finally, we select the
button to enter a commission schedule item, as follows:Commission Schedule Item
To demonstrate our example as explained above, we will enter a commission rate of 10% for a discount from list price up to "0.00." This commission schedule item will cause commissions to be calculated at a rate of 10% when no discount is applied.
Enter "0" to indicate no discount from list price.
Enter "10" to indicate that 10% commission need to be calculated.
Click

In the same manner as the first item was added, we will continue to build the schedule list indicating:
8% commission for discount up to 5%
5% commission for discount up to 10%
2% commission for discount up to 20%
No commission for discount up to 100%
After all the items for our commission schedule item list have been saved, the screen will look like this:
