3. Configure the Datasource Server Ports

The xTuple Dashboards extension adds two basic servers that serve up the dashboards to your xTuple Desktop client:

  • An HTTP server that serves HTML and JavaScript files

  • A WebSocket server that serves the API which the dashboards get their data from

These two servers listen by default on your localhost network on ports 3000 and 3030, respectively. If you already have services on your machine using these ports, the dashboard servers will fail to start up. You will see an error in your xTuple Desktop client database log referencing a port conflict. You can either turn off or change that other service, or change the port numbers the xTuple dashboard servers listen on. To learn more, please see Server Settings.
