In our next scenario, our normal customers are moved to internal sales. To accomplish this, we need to remove the existing sales reps from customer TTOYS and assign John Smith as sales rep. Navigate to the
tab for Customer TTOYS:Follow this path:
Select

Select the
tab.For both sales reps, highlight, right click and select
.Click the
button.Select sales rep JSMITH from the drop down menu.
Check the Primary option and click the button to save.

With enhanced commissions activated, it is possible to manage the apportionment of commissions to sales reps and sales rep managers. A sales rep becomes a sales rep manager when his xTuple code is entered against the manager field of another sales rep's employee setup. For our purposes we will assign sales rep "ADMIN" as John Smith's manager, as shown in the following screen:

Both the sales rep and the sales rep manager need to be employees for the enhanced commissions package to recognize this relationship.
The internal sales reps are assigned to a sales rep group called "Internal," as shown below:

And a corresponding sales commission schedule is created to be applied when internal sales reps are assigned on a sales order:

Note that the effect of this commission schedule would be the same as a 7% fixed commission rate defined against the sales rep. However, when a sales rep manager needs to be included, a commission schedule is necessary―and the Include Sales Managers option needs to be selected, as shown in the following screenshot:

When we place an order for customer TTOYS after the above setup requirements have been met, we see that the sales rep's manager is automatically included for commissions on this order:

After saving the sales order item, commissions for both the sales rep and the sales rep's manager are visible on the

As seen before, the invoice and payment from the customer must be posted before the sales reps can be paid. The next step after posting the invoice and the payment will be to pay the sales reps. We mark the commissions as paid in the sales rep commissions report. To get there, follow the path

Notice that the payments are still flagged as not paid. Next, we will look at how to pay these sales reps with checks.
