Introduction

Welcome to the Reference Guide for xTuple Enterprise Resource Planning! This Reference Guide is designed as a screen-by-screen reference for anyone using any of the following xTuple ERP Editions:

  • xTuple ERP: PostBooks Edition

  • xTuple ERP: Distribution Edition

  • xTuple ERP: Manufacturing Edition

  • xTuple ERP: Enterprise Edition

Note

If you are looking for more detailed user or developer documentation, you can find that and more on xTuple's community website here: www.xtuple.org.

Since all the xTuple editions share a common code base, it makes sense that they also share a Reference Guide. To highlight the differences between editions―and also several extension packages―we've placed colored bars in the margins of the text. If no colored bar exists, the feature is shared by all editions. The following color codes are used:

Red

Indicates the feature is part of the core commercial functionality shared by all commercial editions of xTuple ERP.

Blue

Indicates the feature is found in a commercial package built upon the core commercial functionality. This includes the Manufacturing, and Enterprise Editions, as well as the xTuple Connect package. Connect can also be added to the free and open source PostBooks Edition.

Green

Indicates the feature is part of a non-commercial, freely-available extension package.

Note

For more information on the differences between the xTuple ERP Editions, including licensing options, please visit www.xtuple.com/comparison.

The screenshots and examples used throughout this Reference Guide are taken from the Enterprise Edition for Windows. However, there is no functional difference between the Windows, Mac, or Linux versions. You will only find minor graphical user interface differences.
