1. Overview

Product information flows from the ERP to the portal in real-time, where it is then displayed on the appropriate web pages. All you need to do is make sure that:

  • Products in the ERP are activated for the web and

  • The detailed product information is correct.

When those aspects are in place, the system should work for you seamlessly. Additional marketing content can also be layered in using the various available content management features: articles, FAQs, forms, pages, promos, and testimonials.

Products have both static and dynamic pieces of information, all of which are managed in the ERP. Static information is information about products that is constant, non-changing and is not impacted by other factors. Static information is rigid and precise, rather than being dependent on other variables. For example, an item's SKU or its physical size and weight are considered static pieces of information. Dynamic information, on the other hand, is information that may be impacted by other variables. Pricing is a good example of dynamic information. Product pricing can fluctuate dynamically, depending on a customer's pricing schedule.
