The xTuple Batch Manager is an application used to process batch jobs and reports submitted to it from an xTuple ERP database. The Batch Manager is included by default with xTuple ERP Standard and Manufacturing Editions. And it may be purchased separately for use with the xTuple ERP PostBooks Edition. This product guide will show you how to load, configure, and use the Batch Manager.
The examples provided in this product guide apply to all editions of xTuple ERP.
By extending the capabilities of xTuple ERP, the Batch Manager enables you to perform the following tasks from xTuple ERP:
Email documents
Process large jobs and reports
Schedule jobs and reports
Perform system maintenance
When you submit a job to the Batch Manager, you specify a time to for the job to start. Jobs are stored on the database awaiting Batch Manager processing. The queue of jobs waiting to be processed can be viewed through the xTuple ERP application client or the Batch Manager client. We will cover these points—as well as many more—in greater detail later in this product guide.
