1. Overview

The xTuple QuickStart Wizard is an xTuple extension package designed to work with quickstart databases associated with any xTuple ERP edition. The package is easy to install. And once installed, you have fully integrated ERP functionality that is ready for setup and use.

To install xTuple QuickStart Wizard, you will need the following items:

Updater tool

This is the package installer. It is a cross-platform application which connects to your xTuple ERP database and installs the xTuple QuickStart Wizard package (xtsetup). The updater is the same tool that is used for upgrading xTuple ERP databases from one version to the next. It also converts xTuple ERP from one edition to the next (e.g., PostBooks to Standard).

xTuple QuickStart Wizard package (xtsetup)

This is the xTuple extension package which integrates the QuickStart Wizard with your xTuple ERP. The file is loaded into the updater, which in turn applies the package to your xTuple database. Like all xTuple database upgrade scripts, the file ends with a .gz extension.

xTuple ERP with xTuple Desktop (xtdesktop)

You can find more information on installing xTuple ERP in the Admin and Setup section on the community website www.xtuple.org. Once you have successfully installed xTuple, you should see the xTuple desktop icons in the left pane.
