To simply retire an asset, you need to mark the status of the asset as retired. You will then need to enter a retire date and disposition reason code. You can also retire an asset from the fixed asset list. To do this, right-click on the asset and the option to retire will be available.
Retiring an asset on its own does not create any ledger transactions, and the asset value will still be included in the general ledger.
